Blake

To see a world in a grain of sand, And a heaven in a wild flower, Hold infinity in the palm of your hand, And eternity in an hour. William Blake, from "Auguries of Innocence"

Take the Long Way Home

Dear Daughter,

It has been a long time, too long, and much has happened in our lives, both good and bad, challenging and rewarding.

A good friend convinced me I should begin writing again, the pages have been blank for too long, and she is right. It is time to write.

Sometimes in Life, it seems like that there are short cuts, quick ways to get where we are going, always in a rush.

However, what I have found to be most interesting is to take the long way home, to not rush from place to place, but rather to stop and sit for a while, catch your breath and look up at the stars at night. We all get too busy, too worried and too focused on certain things, and suddenly life passes us by.

So, whenever you feel rushed, pause, look around, and find the long way home for a change.

I love you,
Papa
