Blake

To see a world in a grain of sand, And a heaven in a wild flower, Hold infinity in the palm of your hand, And eternity in an hour. William Blake, from "Auguries of Innocence"

Going Up is Sometimes Easier than Down

We had a beautiful hike and picnic yesterday in the Santa Fe National Forest, north of the City Different. In between thunderstorms and with good friends, we hiked up the trail, with you blazing ahead of all of us, for well over a mile. We saw beautiful mountain wildflowers, butterflies, and the most interesting tree-carving graffiti I have ever seen. And, you learned (luckily without falling!) that coming down the slope is sometimes more tricky than going up. Sometimes things just aren't what they seem to be until you experience them for yourself.
